So, what’s happening at Flourish?

Quite a bit actually. We have got our hands full with the Entreprenuership Quest, the Comic Book Writer’s workshop and the Pune Children’s Business Fair 2023!

Entrepreneurship Quest

The new year has begun with a bang as we embark on our annual Entrepreneurship Quest. This is an exciting journey we undertake every year, leading up to the Pune Children’s Business Fair in February. (Have your children registered for the fair yet?)

Over the course of six weeks, our Eagles, will gain a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to launch and run a successful business. Our quest covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • Motivation: Identifying personal strengths and aligning them with market needs
  • Market research: Determining the potential demand for a product or service
  • Brand identity: Developing a unique brand that stands out in the market
  • Unit economics: Understanding the financials behind a business, including costs and pricing
  • Hiring: Evaluating the benefits of hiring help and building a team
  • Competition: Developing strategies to differentiate against competitors and stay ahead of the game

We are currently in week 2 of the quest and the Eagles are working hard on defining their business and brand. As part of the quest, we also get to watch and discuss episodes of Shark Tank to gain insights on how to pitch and grow their businesses.

It’s an exciting time for our young entrepreneurs, and we can’t wait to see the innovative and unique businesses they create!

Comic Book Writer’s Workshop

Our young Eagles are embarking on an exciting journey of learning how to communicate their ideas through the medium of cartoons and comic books. Over a period of six weeks, they will gain the skills and tools necessary to create and publish their own stories in the form of a comic book.

We’ve only just begun and already, the Eagles have had the opportunity to learn from noted cartoonist Chaitanya Gavande, and spend an afternoon at the Comic & Brics Cafe exploring the different genres of comics and indulging in delicious snacks.

The ultimate goal of this workshop is for each Eagle to publish their own story as a comic, which they will then proudly present to their families and friends at the end of the workshop.

The Pune Children’s Business Fair

We host the Pune Children’s Business Fair every year and are happy to host it again in-person this year. This year’s venue is the Creaticity Mall (Shastrinagar), Pune, and we have 32 booths on offer.

With a month still to go, we are down to our last few booths. If your children (6-14 years) would like to participate, please register at the website – https://punecbf.com to submit their business ideas.

This is going to be held on Sunday, the 19th of February 2023 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Friends of the Pune Children’s Business Fair!

The CBF is a not-for-profit event that the Flourish School largely sponsors, and every year we get requests from many generous people to let them contribute and support our cause in a personal capacity.

The booths are offered at a very affordable rate of Rs. 900 per booth to keep the event accessible to as many folks as possible.

If you would like to join us in encouraging young people to think about entrepreneurship and start businesses, you can contribute via our Friends of CBF page here:

https://pages.razorpay.com/friendsofcbfpune

We have three reward tiers (between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 5,000), and all your contributions go into adding more value to our young entrepreneurs.

Sponsorship in Kind
If you run a business that makes products for children and would like to partner with us either to give away free samples to all participants, sponsor prizes (we have 12 prizes) or offer discounts on your products via a coupon, please get in touch by replying to this post. We’ll do our best to accommodate and promote your business.
